At the Hop Poles in Hammersmith - really nice Caesar Salad

Almost every Tuesday I go to Toastmaster Athenians meetings at The Hop Poles in Hammersmith. Toastmaster is a world wide public speaking club and Athenians is one of the best clubs in London.

Of course I've tried the Caesar Salad at The Hop Poles a few times an I would give them a good average rating. It's tasty, fresh chicken, perfect dressing, but I think they have misunderstood the thing with the bread, you don't want that much bread... (or maybe it's just me?)

Louise and I trying out the Caesar salad at Cork & Bottle

After having a glass of wine outside at Gordon's wine bar we decided that it was time to have dinner. My imagination went all the way to Leicester square and Cork & Bottle.

When I looked at the menu I saw the Caesar salad, yam, Caesar it is. I haven't had a Caesar salad since mid Feb, so it was about time.

We both ordered Caesar and it turns out that Louise is a fan as well :) 

This Caesar was something extraordinary, perfect size, perfect chicken and a great dressing. The dressing had a touch of chili in it, and it was very tasty.

Caesar salad at Nandos

Nandos is one of my favourite restaurants in London; staff always nice, quick service and I like the menu.

So before we went to see La Soriee we had dinner at Nandos and this time it was time to try their Caesar. In general it was alright, but I was a bit too brave when I asked for hot sauce on the chicken... whoahh. Will never do that again.

Rating: 5/10 (the sauce was far toooo hot)

Getting a Caesar Salad in 2 minutes - very impressed!

Today when we were on our way to watch a movie we had about 30 minutes to get something to eat, and fix everything you need to do before the film starts. We popped into Cafe Kosmos two minutes away from the cinema. They promised that I could get a Caesar Salad in 2 minutes, and they kept the promise. I was soooo impressed and happy :-)

They get 10/10 for their customer service.

The Caesar itself gets 5/10. They won't get a higher rating because the dressing was not tasting Caesar dressing at all. It could have been plain mayonnaise served on the side. 

At the Bishop Arms in Göteborg, Sweden

My latest Caesar Salad at the Bishop Arms in Göteborg, Sweden. A very pub-ish pub, they only had one white wine and one red to choose from, the rest was beer and whiskey. Lucky me - they had Caesar Salad, I was a bit hungry after a few hours shopping in central Göteborg and was not too keen to have Fish and Chips or a burger.

The salad was ok, a bit random with a lot of tomatoes in it. I prefer to have the chicken in thin slices and not in big bits as here.  Great company made me enjoy it tho!

One more Caesar Salad in Brussels...

I had to give Brussels one more chance. I ordered a Caesar Salad at one of the steakhouses near our hotel Brussels Grill. And yes, it turned out that that it was a good one. They managed to make a good salad with the right amount of chicken and the other important ingredients.

We were about 20 people having lunch together and we got the food at the same time, which is a good sign of a good restaurant.

I left Brussel with hope that they one day will have more healthy food!

My first really bad Caesar Salad 2011

OMG! This salad was the worst ever! The chicken was crispy as bacon, drowning in fat and there were no proper Caesar dressing... well this just prove that you can fail doing a Caesar salad. So if you are in Brussles avoid Boston Steak House...

Maybe I have to be a bit more tollerant with this restaurant in Brussel. It turned out that it was very difficult to order fresh and healthy food all over Brussles.

This was Halloween, so that's explains the pink horns. On our way to a big party!

Rating: 2/10 - I left very unsatisfied...
